Who
we are
While largely agricultural, Yolo County encompasses rural,
suburban and metropolitan residences and places of employment.
Because of this, Yolo County families have distinct childcare
needs. To ensure that each County's needs are reflected in
the Council's membership, California's Assembly Bill 1542
requires the following blend of Council participants:
- 20% Child Care consumers
- 20% Child Care providers
- 20% Community representatives
- 20% Public Agency representatives
- 20% Discretionary Members
Who's
in charge
The Yolo County Board of Supervisors and the Yolo County
Superintendent of Schools appoints members to the Child Care
& Development Planning Council. They also approve major
council decisions.
