ESPARTO KINDER ROUND-UP
Rise Inc. will host its annual Kindergarten Round-Up Fair on Friday, August 4, 2006. The Kinder Round-Up is an annual event for parents to attend with their entering kindergarten child. Located at the elemantary school, this is a perfect opportunity for parents to accompany their child to a school event prior to the first day of kindergarten. The event includes a chance to meet the Principal, hearing and vision screenings, teeth screenings, bus rides, information booths and more. Siblings are welcomed!!! NCECE
The Sacramento County Office of Education is proud to co-sponsor the 17th Northern California Early Childhood Education (NCECE) Conference, scheduled for August 7-8, 2006 at the Hilton Arden West.
Whitcome Hayslip, coordinator of Infant and Preschool Education Programs for the Los Angeles Unified School District, will serve as the conference keynote speaker. His keynote speech topic will be: "Meeting the Diverse Needs of Children through the Early Childhood Curriculum".
A specail evening "Make it and Take It" Workshop is planned for Monday evening, August 8th.
YOLO COUNTY FAIR, AUGUST 16-20TH
Come to the "Hog August Nights!" The Yolo County Child Care Planning Council is partering with the Yolo County Children's Alliance at the annual Yolo County Fair August 16-20, 2006 to provide information and activities for parents and their children at the Family Fun Barn. The collaborate effort includes the Yolo County Child Care Planning Council, Yolo County Children's Allicance, Woodland Public Library, Yolo County Foster Care and Kinship, Child Care Services Resource and Referral, First 5 Yolo, Child Development Center and Yolo Family Resource Center. Parents are encouraged to come and participate in the various child-centered activities and learn more about family services provided in Yolo County.
The Literacy Service will distribute free books to children 0-5 years of age at the Family Fun Barn (as long as supplies last).
