Planning
Council History
In 1991, a Federal Child Care and Development Block Grant
was established. With the money created from this grant, Child
Care & Development Planning Councils were created. These
Councils allow counties to report to the state the individual
needs of each particular county and to assist families with
childcare and development services
Each of the 58 counties in the state of California has an
active Council. Each council is overseen by the California
Department of Education, Child Development Division. Planning
Councils are constantly evolving in order to effectively serve
the best interests of children in their counties.
Our
Mission
The mission of the Yolo County Child Care Planning Council
is to promote the professional growth of the child care workforce and to support the development of quality child care programs.
